On the very left bank of the Neretva River, next to the Velika Riva and King Tomislav Square, is the Port Authority building. Due to the needs of the port and the port administration, the Port Authority building was built in 1912. The building itself is interesting because of its style, which features significant elements of Renaissance architecture, such as a four-pitched roof and elaborate wall decorations on a simply designed exterior. Today, it has lost its function, as the Metkovo port has lost its importance, and the importance of the port in Ploče has increased.
