On Friday, July 31st, we are once again organizing the traditional Roman Night event in Narona, and this year it will have a humanitarian character, and all proceeds from food sales will be donated to the missions that Father Ante Gabrić left behind in India and to the missions in Uganda.
The program is jointly organized by the Tourist Board, the Narona Archaeological Museum, the Father Ante Gabrić Foundation and the Metković High School, and visitors will be offered content throughout the evening that combines archaeology, history, gastronomy and entertainment.
The program begins at 7:00 PM with workshops and playrooms for children, presentations of ancient crafts, and the opening of a fair of local products and handicrafts. At 7:30 PM, a lecture will be given by archaeologist Ivana Ožanić Roguljić , who will talk about ancient Narona and the daily life of its inhabitants.
The opening ceremony of the event is scheduled for 8 p.m. , followed by demonstrations of Roman hairstyles and stonemasonry. Visitors will be able to taste dishes and desserts inspired by Roman cuisine, while a cookbook of Roman recipes will be available in the museum's souvenir shop.
The evening will be further enriched by a dance performance with a fiery spectacle by the Vodorige group and the Myth Storytelling Show hosted by Marijana Curić.
The highlight of the program is expected at 9:30 PM in the arena, where gladiator fights, exotic dance performances and a fireshow are announced that will evoke the atmosphere of ancient Narona.
This year's Roman Night once again connects cultural heritage and humanitarian action, providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy a rich program while supporting missions in India and Uganda.
FREE TRANSPORTATION: Free transportation is organized for all visitors by Čazmatrans Metković -> Vid, departing from the Bus Station in Metković at 7:00 PM and 9:45 PM. Vid – Metković, departing from the parking lot in Vid at 9:30 PM and 11:15 PM.
Due to the holding of the Roman Night in Narona on 7/31/2026. from 17:00 to 23:30 in the area of Naronski trg and Riva in Vid, temporary traffic regulation is in force, and traffic is closed for all vehicles, except vehicles with a permit.
